Exploration of Imagination

This year it is the Osage Middle School Art students who have the opportunity to share their artistic creations with you.  The middle school is comprised of grades fifth through eighth grade.  To give you a better understanding of the art program, here is how often these students have an art class.

5th Graders:  There are three sections and each section comes to art twice in a six-day cycle.  We average a major project about every 8 weeks.

6th Graders:  There are three sections and each section comes to art twice

in a six-day cycle for only the first semester.  We created five projects.

7th Graders: This class is split into five sections and each section comes to art every day for only seven weeks at some time in the school year.

Unfortunately, the last group of 7th graders has not had art class yet, and thus we were not able to display any of their work.  We shall do so in future years.

8th Graders:  Art class is an elective.  This class meets every day for the second semester.  Each student has a piece of art represented.

Students have the opportunity to explore various mediums in art class.  You will get to see projects including pottery, painting, drawing, and printmaking.  There are over 245 students who have been involved in the art program this school year, and they have created over 750 pieces of artwork.  Needless to say, we were not able to display every student’s work.  We hope you enjoy our exploration of imagination.

This show will have a special addition of artwork created by the seniors from the Osage High School.  We hope you will also enjoy their artwork.
